Product Review - L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur - Instant Skin Smoother

I just tried L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur - Instant Skin Smoother, and… woah. It’s smooth, there’s no doubt. It made my foundation glide on like magic (to no one’s surprise, the # 1 ingredient is a form of silicone). But once I was finished my face looked and felt like an oil slick. Not cute. Now, I LOVE a dewy, moisturized look, probably even more than the average makeup lover, but this was ridiculous. It also did not “blur” anything. I have large pores on my cheeks, and this stuff did nothing to diminish their appearance.

Now, if you have desert-dry, peeling skin, you might love this product. I admit that I have a persistant dry patch of skin between my eyebrows, and my foundation often goes on unevenly there. This was not a problem after using MB. However, the rest of the effect was not worth that small benefit.

Seriously, if you have combination to normal, or oily skin (good god), STAY AWAY. If I didn’t have somewhere to be in an hour I would go wash my face and start over, because I feel like I just got back from sweating all day at the beach. *sigh* I’ll have to suck it up, though, and settle for powdering the heck outta this mess.

Look 2 from my photo shoot with my darling bestie, Katy. My husband and I worked together completely to create all of the images. He sets up lights and helps with camera settings (as I’m learning but not quite at his skill level yet), as well as doing most of the photo editing afterwards. I do the hair and makeup, snap the actual photos (I’m better at communicating with models and achieving the “vision” than hubs is) and oversee the retouching process. It’s a wonderful process and the three of us had a great day putting this shoot together.

I’d also add: Take risks! I’m learning more about this every day. I’m about to do something completely out of my comfort zone soon… but who knows? My willingness to put myself out there just might turn into something amazing. Cryptic, I know… ;) I’ll post more specifics when all is said and done.

I still feel that poetry is not medicine — it’s an X-ray. It helps you see the wound and understand it. We all feel alienated because of this continuous violence in the world. We feel alone, but we feel also together. So we resort to poetry as a possibility for survival.

I’m improving my makeup portfolio, and my best friend (who happens to be a stunner, lucky for me!) was game for a day of primping and posing for me. Such fun!
